Jul 25 - Manager, Donor Development (37-14)
This position is responsible for generating revenue to support AAFP Foundation and AAFP philanthropic programs through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and ongoing management of major donor relationships. This individual will: • research and qualify major and planned giving prospects; • build and maintain donor/prospective donor relationships, including an assigned portfolio of individuals; • develop proposals and presentations to meet major donor philanthropic needs as well as those of the Foundation; • make solicitations and complete the fundraising cycle by working with donor and donor advisors to secure completed formal agreements, e.g., charitable remainder trusts, charitable gifts annuities, bequests, endowments, major gifts or pledges, etc. This position will develop, manage, and/or oversee a full range of fundraising initiatives as assigned, including planned giving campaigns, major gift campaigns, the securing of large annual gifts, participation in fundraising events and activities, database management, communications, and strategy and plan development. ... more >
Jul 22 - Regional Chief Development Officer
Summary: Responsible for strengthening and growing the donor base and the development program to meet assigned financial goals. Supports the Regional Chief Executive who is the chief fundraiser for the region. Drives a strong revenue-oriented culture based on market-driven targets. Leads a development team in planning, managing and implementing fund development strategies for the Region. Maintains their own portfolio of assigned major donors and prospects, and personally makes solicitations. Functions in a highly visible, externally facing role and will represent the Region in cultivating donors with the greatest capacity and managing leadership volunteers. Reports jointly to the Regional Chapter Executive and the Divisional Fundraising Vice President. Responsibilities: 1. Develops and executes annual and multi-year development strategies for the Region’s fundraising. 2. Accountable for achieving or exceeding Region’s minimum fundraising target and managing to fundraising expense target. Revenue target may increase due to major domestic disasters. 3. Partners closely with the RCE, DFVP and Board(s) in the Region to develop and execute the fundraising strategy in order to significantly grow annual revenues in the short term, while diversifying the funding base towards long-term sustainability. 4. Maintains his/her own portfolio of assigned major donors and prospects, responsible for personally making face to face donor solicitations and meeting national/regional fundraising metrics. 5. Serves as the primary staff liaison for the Board’s Philanthropy Committee. 6. Orients new Board members to their fundraising responsibilities and ensures that they receive the support they need to be successful volunteer fundraisers. 7.
